Lynnea has been fascinated by communication since before her training in medicine, beginning with her focus on language development and linguistics in undergraduate education. Her interests within healthcare communication center around "difficult" conversations, as well as development of effective methods for teaching and assessing communication skills across all levels of training; she has developed or is working on separate communications curricula for med students, residents, and interdisciplinary faculty.

Laura A. Kirk, MSPAS, PA-C is the Senior Physician Assistant Supervisor in the UCSF Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She received her undergraduate training in Biology and Chemistry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and her Master’s in PA Studies from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania.

Michael S. Marcin, MD, MSCR, is a double-boarded child and adolescent and general psychiatrist with nearly two decades of experience caring for youth and adults, with and without neurodevelopmental disabilities. His career has focused on improving the patient and provider experience across various types of health care systems. As Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco’s School of Medicine, he is Assistant Medical Director of the Acute Inpatient Program at Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital.
